Hi! Thank you for checking me out. I am a principal investigator at the Department of Language Science and Technology, Saarland University, working closely with Vera Demberg’s group.

I lead the DFG-funded project Gesture-informed language models: Evaluating Multimodal Discourse Processing in LLMs and Humans (May 2026 – April 2029), part of the DFG Priority Programme Robust Assessment & Safe Applicability of Language Modeling: Foundations for a New Field of Language Science & Technology (LaSTing, SPP 2556).

My current research focus lies in multi-modal understanding of human language – both spoken and gestured. My previous focus was discourse relations at the intersection of NLP, corpus linguistics, and experimental psycholinguistics.

I am currently pursuing my habilitation.
